How to use
- Paste the text to number.
- Set the starting number, the step, the format (such as “1.” or “1)”) and optional padding.
- Switch to “Remove line numbers” to strip numbering from a list.
- Copy or download the result.
How it works
Padding keeps numbers aligned: zeros give 01, 02 … 10, and spaces right-align the numbers, which suits code. Removal recognises formats such as “1.”, “2)”, “(3)”, “4:”, “5 |” and a number followed by a tab.
Limitations
- Removal needs punctuation or a tab after the number, so lines such as “2024 was a good year” are left alone — but so is “1 item”.
Privacy
Your text is processed entirely in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, logged or saved by this tool.
Local processing protects your data from being uploaded, but it cannot protect against a compromised device or malicious browser extensions.
